Position Overview

The People and Culture Lead will be responsible for shaping and managing all aspects of the employee experience—from recruitment and onboarding to development, culture and compliance. This role will act as a trusted partner to leadership while ensuring that our creative teams are supported, engaged, and empowered to do their best work and organizational needs are aligned to support business growth.

This is a hands-on role, covering both strategic and operational aspects of people related agenda within a dynamic, innovative environment. The People & Culture Lead is expected to champion a positive, inclusive, and collaborative and inspiring workplace culture. In our current setting, the People & Culture Lead may wear multiple hats—balancing people best practices with culture-building, internal communications and engagement, and sometimes office operations.

People & Culture Lead would combine HR expertise, cultural sensitivity, and hands-on adaptability, as well as be a strong communicator. 

This role will be expected to support leadership in strengthening company culture by manifesting and promoting the following company’s values:

Key Responsibilities:

1. People Strategy and Operations

  • Maintain or design, when needed, and implement people policies, processes, and systems.
  • Contribute to defining and executing people area initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with the HR services provider to ensure compliance with local labor laws and employment regulations.
  • Coordinate the organization of company regular business reviews.
  • Contribute to the development of HR budget and execute it efficiently.
  • Create and run regular analytics and reports on key people metrics.

2. Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:

  • Organize the full cycle of recruitment efforts for both creative and technical roles to meet company staff growth needs.
  • Develop and manage strong hiring practices to attract diverse talent.
  • Create engaging onboarding programs that integrate new hires smoothly into the team.

3. Employee Experience and Culture

  • Organize team engagement initiatives and events to foster a strong, inclusive, collaborative and fun company culture.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee relations, providing guidance and support.
  • Consult and support leadership and line managers on employee experience related issues.
  • Maintain engaging internal and external communication using most optimum channels. Define the best comms practices to keep staff well informed, supported and motivated.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen company practices.

4. Learning & Development

  • Identify skills gaps and growth opportunities for staff.
  • Organize training initiatives to support technical, creative and leadership skills development.
  • Support managers in performance reviews and feedback practices.

5. HR Compliance

  • Support Studio Operations Director with overseeing contracts, payroll coordination, leave tracking, and benefits administration.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems (People Force app).
  • Consult and keep employees informed on any HR compliance topics and activities

6. Community Relations

  • Engage with local IT and creative communities (Moldova IT Park, COR, other related professional networks) to maintain awareness about and promote our company.
  • Develop beneficial partnerships (including with universities) and represent bully! In professional events (meetups, conferences etc) or coordinate the participation of team members in the events.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience in HR/People roles, ideally in a creative, digital, or tech-focused organization.
  • Solid knowledge of HR practices, labor law, and compliance.
  • Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding – ability to attract, recruit, and retain top creative and technical talent.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management – skilled in onboarding, performance reviews, feedback, and offboarding.
  • Compensation & Benefits awareness -  understanding of reward systems and benefits.
  • Strong Communication Skills – clear, engaging, and adaptable across different geographies, personalities and contexts.
  • Creative Problem-Solving Mindset – practical and proactive approach to both people and operational challenges, resonating with the unique needs of a creative workforce.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small team.
  • Passionate about fostering a healthy, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Familiarity with project-based or freelance/contractor workforce management is a plus.
